| CARANA joins USAID’s celebration of public-private partnerships |
|
CARANA was one of eight interactive exhibitors at USAID’s Public-Private Partnership Forum on October 20 in Washington, DC’s Ronald Reagan Building. The day-long event – attended by over 200 invited guests from business, philanthropy, education, government, and nonprofits – was designed to recognize and celebrate partnerships, while the exhibits were a concrete way to demonstrate them. CARANA’s booth featured its West Africa Trade Hub work with the Global Shea Alliance. The exhibit featured partners, The Body Shop and Shea Radiance – a Maryland-based retailer of shea cosmetics and body products. Swedish firm AAK, one of the world’s largest shea nut buyers, processors, and suppliers to major personal care firms, was represented in the booth alongside CARANA staff. Forum participants were able to see shea nuts in various stages of processing and had many shea body products to sample. Thanks to the generosity of The Body Shop, everyone was given a free sample of shea lip butter. Published November 2011 Share through your favorite Social Bookmarking websites
